When we experience pain, one of the first things we do is stop activities and exercise that aggravates the pain. This is essential when we have acute injuries, as rest is required for the body to heal. However, when an injury has healed but pain persists, or in the instance when no injury can be identified for causing the pain, it is important to start moving again. But moving a painful body part or returning to exercise and activities can be really hard, sometimes impossible without help from a physiotherapist. Melbourne Pain Physio can support you with this process and guide you towards returning to meaningful activities such as school, work, sport or exercise that you may have stopped.

Hydrotherapy is a form of exercises performed in water, typically in a heated pool. Hydrotherapy can help people improve their strength, mobility, flexibility, and overall well-being. The buoyancy of water reduces the impact on the body, making it a low-impact form of exercise that is particularly beneficial for people with pain, injury, arthritis, fibromyalgia, or those recovering from surgery. It combines the benefits of water (such as resistance and buoyancy) with therapeutic movements.
